SLOW & STEADY WINS THE RACE
We know — it’s fun to win coming off the red light — but it’s not so good for your gas mileage or CO2 emissions. Start slowly and drive steady, stay between 55 and 60 on the highway, to make your “green” go farther.
TURN OFF THE ENGINE WHEN WAITING
Turn off the motor while waiting for trains. In the winter months, you only need about a minute to “warm-up” your car. Anything more is just pouring emissions into our air.
INFLATE YOUR TIRES PROPERLY
We can help you check your air pressure if you’re not sure how much pressure you need. You can save gas by keeping them properly inflated.
DRIVE WITH OPEN WINDOWS…
…around town. You can get 20% better gas mileage and help save the planet by turning off the A/C. Exception: At a speed greater than 45 mph, you’re better off with windows up to reduce wind resistance.
YET ANOTHER REASON TO TRAVEL LIGHT
Extra weight in the trunk or on the rooftop deducts mileage.
Ride-sharing helps everyone by putting fewer cars on the road. And we hear some great stories about carpools!
KEEP YOUR CAR RUNNING EFFICIENTLY
